How do you feel about yourself, your life, job, family, and friends?
- Are you living a happy, prosperous life, or is life a constant struggle?
- Are you living in the moment, or are you lamenting about the past and worrying about the future?
Marlene George’s phenomenal book, Your Life is Now, explores all these things and more. How you think and feel about yourself and all aspects of your life essentially will define your life. Marlene can show you how you can live the life you want. Her philosophy behind her teachings consists of her “Nine Skills for Joyous Living”, each of which is explored in detail. These skills are the driving force behind her book.
Her book is divided into nine chapters, each focusing on one of the skills.
-
Chapter 1, “My Story”, outlines her philosophies, her personal history, and her purpose for writing the book.
-
Chapter 2, “Higher Self”, explores how you must trust your inner guidance to lead you to the things you want in life.
-
Chapter 3, “Self-Esteem, Self-Worth”, focuses on how to not look to others for validation, but how to be the person you want to be.
-
Chapter 4, “Fear and Anxiety”, explores how fear can guide us, how we can discover the origins of our fears and anxieties, and how we can overcome them.
-
Chapter 5, “Relationships”, deals with how we can improve our relations with others in the Now.
-
Chapter 6, “Forgiveness”, explains how we must own our part in our dealings with others.
-
Chapter 7, “Health”, explores how the mind follows the body, and outlines the “seven body chakras”.
-
Chapter 8, “Money, Business, Success”, discusses how our attitudes and personal life affects our work and success. Finally,
-
Chapter 9, “Forever Young”, explores how our attitudes towards our physical selves influence our lives.
Marlene neatly concludes her book with her Nine Skills, for added emphasis. Anecdotes of her many clients’ difficulties and resolutions are prevalent. In each chapter, she also provided many examples of her personal life to illustrate the discussion at hand. Interwoven throughout the book, also, are practical exercises, many of them meant to help relax both the mind and the body. Many other exercises help you to better appreciate and love yourself the way you are.

Marlene George’s teachings are based on both Western and Eastern philosophy. She has worked in the alternative health field since 1987. Her training is in Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, and CranioSacral Therapy, all of which heavily influence her book and is reflected in the exercises she provides. Her philosophies on life and her advice are very thought-provoking. Her style of communication is down-to-earth, easy-going, straightforward, and conversational.

The most interesting advice I got from Your Life is Now was found in Chapters 5 and 6: how our own thoughts, feelings, and attitudes attract situations which confirm our beliefs (Chapter 5), and how our bodies follow what the mind thinks and produces (Chapter 6) – i.e. positive thoughts produce positive results, and negative thoughts produce negative results. I also gleaned some wisdom from Chapter 8: on how to establish what I want out of life first, and to trust the universe to bring it to me.
I highly recommend Your Life is Now. If you are willing, Marlene George’s wisdom can show you how to find inner happiness and peace.
